In August 1912 my Great Grandfather, William Warn drove his 25HP Singer from Lands End to John O'Groats without stopping the engine. His three great grandchildren will try to replicate this in a 1907 Singer owned and driven by Ian North in August 2012.

Hello Heidi David Ian Mary and company On behalf the Association of Singer Car Owners and all Singer enthusiasts everywhere may I congratulate you on your progress. As I write you will probably be recovering from your ‘happy hour’ last night and making preparation for the last leg of your epic venture. With such an able team you have all that it takes to succeed. You have the right qualities – imagination, organizational skills, engineering skills, patience and much good humour. Good luck with your final push! Your adventure will no doubt raise the profile of the wonderful marque Singer, which includes such a wide range of fascinating vehicles, from lovely Edwardians through to the successful Rootes Singers of the sixties. Perhaps Heidi and David you will buy a Singer of your own now! There is a great choice available. The time is fast approaching when the fixed Edwardian expressions will melt into smiles of pleasure as you get to John O’Groats. Best wishes to you all!
