In August 1912 my Great Grandfather, William Warn drove his 25HP Singer from Lands End to John O'Groats without stopping the engine. His three great grandchildren will try to replicate this in a 1907 Singer owned and driven by Ian North in August 2012.

After lunch
I use this term in the loosest of ways - no time for leisurely meanderings over haute cuisine! But Steve looks great in his deerstalker and I don the duster coat to ensure a warm drive (and to keep dry as the clouds look ominous) A fantastic drive is had down/up/along the A303, people continuing to toot and wave and small children poking their tongues in joyous mirth - I jest, they wave too. Making good time and ensuring the oil is regularly pumped round the engine by myself - the latest gold star mechanic's sidekick, Steve has a sudden thought about petrol....and the potential need for some. In usual fashion where there had been stations at regular intervals, now there were none. But no fear, petrol was found and at the petrol station we met.........
